Always on the look-out for a new craft I can do consistently, I stumbled across Sarah K. Benning's brand new embroidery pattern program and knew I'd found my match. For those of you that have been living in a crafting closet, Sarah K. Benning is the crafting goddess behind elaborately embroidered cacti creations the likes of which you've never seen. I urge you to check out her work on her Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sarahkbenning/.
Sarah recently released her pattern program - just last week! She offers several options for purchasing - single month, 6-month, and 12-month subscriptions. Always one to go all in, I purchased the 12-month subscription, and I'm already ready for the rest!
This month's pattern was geode inspired. The subscription provides you with the pattern, detailed instructions and "Pro Tips", and a thorough set of "not to-dos". Buy your own subscription to the program in Sarah's Etsy Shop - then you can join me in crafting fun!

The toughest part for me was the pattern transfer. I just don't have enough natural light at the house, and my eyes are just a little too bad to see through the fabric. I'd recommend purchasing some sort of transfer paper - then you could easily get the pattern onto your hoop in as much time as it takes to print out the pattern and iron it on!
The rest of the process was really fun! My sister, Alyssa, visited this weekend, so she helped pick out the right colors (another area where I struggle), and she sat with me as I stitched it all up! What I like about the program, and about embroidery in general, is the sense of accomplishment I feel when I complete a pattern and hang it up on the wall!
My wall is feeling a bit naked right now, but I'm confident by next March, Sarah's patterns will bring life to my little office/craft room - maybe I'll even try making a pattern on my own for my Lemon & Rosemary readers!
Have you ever tried embroidery - share your creations in the comments below!
Until next time!
